Anti-Ableism, Bullying & Harassment
Promoting Respect, Inclusion, and Dignity
The CMT Warrior Foundation believes every individual deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and fairness.
People with disabilities often face barriers that extend beyond accessibility challenges, including ableism, bullying, harassment, discrimination, social exclusion, and harmful stereotypes.
These experiences can impact education, employment, mental well-being, community participation, and overall quality of life.
Understanding Ableism
Ableism occurs when individuals with disabilities are treated unfairly, underestimated, excluded, or denied opportunities because of their disability.
Ableism can appear in many forms:
- Negative stereotypes
- Discrimination
- Exclusion from activities
- Inaccessible environments
- Employment barriers
- Educational barriers
- Dismissive attitudes
- Social isolation
Bullying and Harassment
Bullying and harassment can occur in:
- Schools
- Colleges
- Workplaces
- Online communities
- Social media
- Public spaces
- Community organizations
Individuals with disabilities may experience:
- Verbal harassment
- Mocking or ridicule
- Intimidation
- Cyberbullying
- Social exclusion
- Workplace harassment
- Disability-based discrimination
These behaviors are harmful and have no place in an inclusive society.
